Nanjirou snorts upon hearing the peach boy call Ryoma a brat. He quickly regains his composure and stares at the teen again, almost curiously this time. After a long silent moment he sighed as he pushed himself to sit upright.

“I’ll be honest with you, peach boy, I still don’t trust you completely. You nor Ryoma,” he said as he crossed his arms over his chest. “But… I’ll let this continue -although I’m guessing it would have with or without my blessing anyway- for now, and I expect that you’ll hold to your words. I’ll be keeping a closer watch on you two, now. And don’t try anything behind my back, because I will find out about it. Remember, the kid’s only twelve.”

“Y-yes sir! I’ll keep to my words and I won’t try anything! I won’t taint your son. I promise.” A wide smile showed itself on Momoshiro’s face. Even if wasn’t completely trusted he knew deep down that he could eventually win that trust.

Nanjirou had to chuckle at the change in the boy’s expression. He let his eyes slip shut as he leaned back. “Yeah, yeah. Be good and all that stuff. But don’t go hurting him or nothing either. I been hearing that you have some baggage with some old flames. This won’t be a problem, will it, peach boy?” he opened one eye, complete seriousness within it. 

“Of course not. It happened in the past. And unless someone brings it up I don’t remember it. And all that happened while Echizen was in America before I even knew he had feelings for me. But I swear I won’t hurt Echizen. It would kill me if I did.”

“Well it seems that it’s being brought up pretty often as of late, and all the more with people already in relationships. I’m serious, peach boy, you’d better have this past stuff cleaned up and not be cheating on my kid.”

“I’m not! I wouldn’t cheat on him! I don’t ever bring up what happened in the past all these other people do. Everything has been straightened out. Really it has.”

“Okaaaaaaaay… Don’t forget, kid, if I find out you’re lying, or if you’ve hurt him, or tainted him, then I will kill you there will be consequences.” 

He gulped again before nodding quickly “I’ll make sure to remember that sir.” Momo hoped that Echizen would watch his mouth from now on.
